Poles Aloud Show – 31st May & 2nd June

On the show today we’re hearing from Kuba Mikurda, a Polish film critic and film maker, talking about the Polish classics on tour in the UK, “Martin Scorsese Presents Masterpieces of Polish Cinema“. The films are quite an intensive look at the Polish historical and cultural background, but Kuba finds a few titles that would appeal to the British audience without having any prior knowledge of the Polish cinema.

Ahoy sailors! Saying goodbye to the Polish Film Festival Kinoteka in a style.

In the second part of the show, we’re going to tackle Polish politics and look at the recent presidential election in Poland, its outcome and international reactions.

We also bring you the recent headlines form Poland, look at weird and wonderful news from around the world and teach you a word or two of Polish.
