It’s a very special day today in Poland, an annual charity event raising funds for children and elderly. WOŚP aka the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) has been active for over 20 years, has saved countless lives and is a great cause that gets people together, even if it’s for only one day a year – so it’s sort of “Christmas in January feel good factor”. Below, a footage of the beginnings and more recent years – sie ma!
We’re also talking about the Polish regional TV and one of its more unusual programmes, discussing the thickness of ice in winter – fascinating, isn’t it. Michael didn’t think so though 😉
Plus plenty of Polish music and our weekly language corner, teaching you a word or two of Polish.
Thanks for tuning in – Dziękujemy!
POLES ALOUD – bringing you a slice of Poland every week to the South West.
