Christmas is lurking around the corner and in the Polish custom the celebrations start already on the 6th December with the Mikołajki. Find out more about the pre Christmas gift traditions and December festivities in Poland.
Also on the show – which film makes you cry? We’re going to look at some of the films that caused stream of tears among the Polish politicians, including the prime minister Tusk.
The spotlight of the passed week was on education, namely the PISA tests and its results across the globe – we’re going to compare the exam tables for both Poland and UK as well as their close neighbours and discuss our ideas on how to improve the results (it might involve a lot of chocolate :)).
And we will finish off with another Christmas tradition – szopki. An art form in itself, the tradition of making those beautiful cribs goes way back into the past, but even in the 21st century they prove to be a popular part of the Christmas celebration.
POLES ALOUD – bringing you a slice of Poland every week in the South West.
