It’s getting hot in Poland and it’s not due to the summer temperatures. We’re looking at the current “political earthquake” around secretly recorded tapes of private talks between a government minister and Poland’s central bank chief. 

The Monty Python gang had to face it years ago, but for the Malta Festival Poznan it’s a very recent thing – a religious outrage (2011 protests in France) towards a piece of art (“Golgota Picnic” by Rodrigo Garcia) led to the show cancellation.

It’ll be 10 years this week (Thu 01/05/14) since Poland joined European Union and was allowed free movement rights across the borders. We’re looking at those past years and what Poland’s achieved in that time. Magda has spoken to 3 Polish women about their stories of coming over and settling in in the UK and you will be able to hear the recording on Polish Outlooks at Astute Radio later this week (Thu 01/05/14).
